ORBFALL

Five orbs fell.
The night came in behind them.

Explore five zones, light the stars, clear the temples and carry the fallen orbs home before the sun goes down. Buy a horse. Adopt a fox. Furnish a house and let your friends in. Then host a world of your own and hand them the link.

Guest play is solo only. Hosting a world, joining a friend's world and saving across devices need an account — free, one email.

Orbfall: the hero in the town square at dusk, lamps lit, a shop and a house door beside the quest board
HOME TOWN, JUST BEFORE DARK

WHAT IS IN THE WORLD

Every sprite and tile is drawn in code at boot. Nothing to download, nothing to install — it runs in the browser you already have, phone or desktop.

A 240-tile overworld

Home Town in the middle; grass, desert, ocean, mountain and ashlands fanning out from it, and thirty people scattered across it with something to ask.

Four guarded landmarks

Skull Isle by ferry, Frostpeak Summit behind a ring of boulders, the Caldera across a lava causeway, the Lost Oasis inside a hedge of cactus. Chests, hoards, and things that never leave.

Ten minutes of day, ten of night

By day the world is yours to explore. By night everything that walks comes for you, and only the light of a lit star keeps it off.

Five temples, five raid caves

A keeper in every temple with an orb behind it — and a new keeper, a new look and one more thing it throws at you in every act. A raid boss in every cave that scales with the party that walks in.

LV 10Mounts

Seven creatures at Skyllar's stables, from a pony at +50% speed to the Nightmare Steed at +150%. Each has its own stamina to spend. 500 to 5,000 coins.

LV 5Pets

A sparrow, a kitten, a hound, an ember drake — eight companions at Maxi's pen that follow you and bite whatever you are fighting.

Your own house

Furniture from Hollis's timber yard, placed where you like. Unlock the door and friends on your world can come in and see it.

Six shops, one bag

The general store, Gabriel's armory, Ondine's charms, the timber yard, the stables and the pet pen. Sell your bag at any of them.

LV 10Four paths

There is a wizard in the mountains who will take every level you have ever earned and hand you back a name: Emberblade, Rimeward, Venomshade or Stormcaller. Level 1 again, and every level from there is a skill point for a Diablo-style tree of your own.

Plays offline

Open it once and it is yours. Every sprite and tile is drawn in code and the world is generated from a seed, so the whole game runs on a train with no signal — solo play, saves and all.

Weapons that swing by class

Spears thrust, hammers smash, daggers stab, bows loose an arrow. Cinder's forge sharpens what you already own.

Three acts

Kill the Shadow King and the world does not end — it breaks. Beat what comes next and the orbs go home: the town comes back as the Hollow, no dawn, lamps burning black, the people you know still standing in it. Beaten an act? You can walk back to it whenever you like.

HOW TO PLAY

Your first evening, in four steps. The town is safe; the world is not, and it gets dark in ten minutes.

  1. Talk to Mayor EldaShe stands by the east hall. Press E beside anyone with a ! over their head and you have a quest. The quest board in the square has bounties too.
  2. Light a star before darkThe stone stars in the wilds save your progress and their light is safe ground — nothing hostile walks into it. Night lasts ten minutes; a lit star is where you wait it out, or fight from the edge of.
  3. Spend your pointsEvery level is five points. C opens your stats: Strength for damage, Vitality for health, Agility to dodge, Dexterity for speed, Health to regenerate, Critical for more critical hits (5% for everyone, +0.5% a point).
  4. Clear the five templesOne keeper in each zone, an orb behind it, and five pedestals up the town ladder. Then the raid caves, Skull Isle by ferry, Frostpeak Summit, the Caldera and the Lost Oasis — each ringed, each guarded, each with a chest you cannot buy the contents of.

Tip: the shop sells the next thing up; Smith Cinder's forge makes the thing you already have better, to +10. Sell what you outgrow at any counter with TAB.

PLAY WITH FRIENDS

One person hosts from their own browser tab. Everyone else clicks a link. No server to run, nothing to pay for.

1. Host a world

Signed in, press Host a game and pick World 1, 2 or 3. Your browser becomes the world and you get a room code and a link — the same code every time you host that world.

2. Send the link

Friends open it and are standing in your world. First visit they start at level 1 there; come back next week, same link, and their hero is waiting.

3. Keep the tab open

Your tab is the world. Close it and everyone else carries on solo from right where they were.

Parties, raids, PvP, chat

Invite from the player list, fight your own copy of a raid boss, turn PvP on (both of you), talk nearby or to the whole world.

Same wifi, no internet

npm run host runs a world on one computer for the whole house, with the characters kept on disk.

Your worlds, your rules

A free account hosts up to 3 worlds, Premium up to 15. Each keeps its own characters, clock and code. Press P on your world to see everyone in it and warn, kick or ban anyone; bad language earns a warning by itself, and five warnings is a ban.
